Our Philosophy All children have an inborn aptitude for movement and musical growth. The early years from birth to five are decisive. It is believed that without nurturing, at this time, a child's natural abilities will deteriorate. Music for Little People's goal is to maximize the inherent musical potential in early childhood by providing a rich variety of quality music and movement experiences at an optimal time for positively influencing a child's development. Through integrated activities centered around traditional and composed songs and chants in combination with movement, children are guided to intuitively absorb the essential foundations necessary for making music. This early supportive environment is what ultimately promotes a lifetime of music understanding and appreciation. Parent Participation Because Music for Little People is designed to introduce music and movement activities which can be shared by parent and child during classes and home, it is required that an adult accompany each child and participate in each class. So, welcome Mom, Dad, Grandpa or Grandma...make a difference in your child's musical growth. Share the joy of making music together! Informal Approach By using an informal approach, Music for Little People places no expectation for achievement upon the child. The classes are playful in keeping with the young child's unique learning style, but contain carefully selected songs, chants and activities designed to aid in the understanding of music.
